Walkthrough: Trapped: The Abduction
notes:
The aim is to escape each room by locating items and solving inventory puzzles.
Each room has multiple hotspots, each marked with a '?'. Hotspots sparkle on mouse-over.
Slide the mouse around the screen to locate the hotspots.
Click a hotspot to add the item to the inventory at the bottom / get a new objective.
Click an item in the inventory and then a hotspot to 'use' the item.
Needed but hidden items are displayed as words in the inventory.
Certain items found in the game are 'collectables' and are stored in Helene's backpack inventory to be used later.
The backpack inventory can be accessed by clicking the bag icon at the bottom left of the screen. Its items, however, are not used in the game.
Every screen has two parts - the first involving locating general hidden items, and the second, solving inventory puzzles. The hidden item screenshots are included, but as these lists are random, your items may not match mine.
The blue question mark at the bottom left of the screen is the Hint - clicking it reveals one hidden object in a fiery circle. Look closely as it only appears for a brief moment.
There is no time limit for any part of the game.
Clicking too many times wrongly in quick succession gets a truly evil and condescending laugh from the kidnapper.
Some parts of the game are 'dark screens'. These have to be searched using the lighter.
There are 30 unique locations. No locations are repeated.

Screen 1: Tutorial / Car Boot
Relevant Items: Lighter, Lock, 2 Screws, Twine, Handle

Pick up the lighter as shown.
Click the lock (hotspot) in the middle of the room.
Helene needs screws to tighten the lock.
One screw is at the bottom left of the screen.
Click the screw in the inventory. Click the lock.
XXX needs another screw.
The other screw is at the middle right of the screen.
Click the screw in the inventory. Click the lock.
The lock is fixed. XXX needs to undo the lock's latches.
Helene needs a twine.
Click the twine at the middle of the screen, below the lock.
Click the twine in the inventory. Click the lock.
Helene needs a handle to twist the lock open.
Click the green handle towards the bottom left of the screen.
Click the handle in the inventory. Click the lock.

Screen 2: Garage

Helene needs a knob to turn on the radio.
Click the knob at the bottom left of the screen, in front of the plastic leg.

Click the four nails (hotspots) jutting out of the dashboard drawer at the right of the screen.
Helene needs a nail puller to remove the nails.
Click the brown device at the bottom left of the screen, held by the plastic hand.
Click the nail puller in the inventory. Click the nails, one at a time.
Click the handle (hotspot) in the middle of the dashboard. It's locked.
Click the car keys at the top left corner of the car window.
Click the keys in the inventory. Click the dashboard handle.
Take the car registration card inside the dashboard.
It has the name and address of a person.
The card and car keys are collectable items and are added to Helene's backpack inventory.
Screen 4: Garage #1
Relevant Items: Broken Staircase, Step (Wooden Plank), Platform, Railing, Hallway
Helene needs to climb up to the platform, but the staircase is broken.
Click the broken staircase (hotspot), just behind the car on the left.
Helene needs a step to replace the missing one on the staircase.
Click the wooden plank leaning against the truck on the right.
Click the step in the inventory. Click the broken staircase.
Click the platform (hotspot) at the top of the stairs.
Helene needs to fix its broken railing.
Click the railing at the right of the screen (entangled with the bicycle).
Click the railing in the inventory. Click the platform.
Click the hallway (hotspot) just to the right of the platform.
Screen 5: Hallway

Helene needs to put the broken glass shards in a box.
Click a glass shard to lift it, then move it over the box and click again.
Repeat till all the broken shards are in the box.
Click the locket hanging from the stick at the right of the screen.
It's a collectable item and is added to Helene's backpack inventory.
Click the door. Helene needs to find the doorknob.
Click the doorknob on the table in the middle of the screen, in front of the bottle.
Click the doorknob in the inventory. Click the door.
Click the fixed doorknob. It's locked.
Helene needs to unlock the door.
Click the key on the bottom shelf at the extreme left of the screen.
Click the key in the inventory. Click the doorknob.
Click the doorknob again.
The locket belonged to Helene's mother?!
Screen 6: Dressing Room

It's missing both arms and both legs.
Helene needs to find and fix its arms and legs.
Click the right leg in the carton at the far left of the screen.

Click the left leg lying under the dresser.
Click the left arm on the table at the bottom right of the screen.
Click one of the limbs in the inventory. Click the mannequin.
Repeat till all limbs are fixed on the mannequin.
Click the mannequin again.
Helene needs a red dress.
Click the red dress at the bottom left of the screen.
Click the dress in the inventory. Click the mannequin.
Click the head of the mannequin.
Helene needs to put a wig on it.
Click the black wig on the table just beside the dresser.
Click the wig in the inventory. Click the mannequin's head.
Click the head of the mannequin again.
Helene needs to put some lipstick on it.
Click the lipstick on the table, to the right of the wig stand.

The second drawer of the dresser (at the right of the screen) opens.
Click to take the license inside.
It's a collectable item and is added to Helene's backpack inventory.
The license tells Helene her name.
Screen 7: Storeroom #1

The room is too dark. Helene needs to turn on the light.
Scroll the mouse over the screen till she locates the light.
It's at the top middle of the screen.
Helene needs to figure out the logic of the message pipes.
Click the leftmost pipe on the right side of the screen.
It's missing the valve wheel.
Click the valve wheel in the carton below the table in the middle.
Click the valve wheel in the inventory. Click the leftmost pipe.
The three message pipes are now open. Note that they are colour coded.
Helene needs to find the three message tubes to go in the pipes.
The green message tube is behind the bars at the left of the screen.
The red message tube is at the back of the table below the chart on the wall.
The blue message tube is in the carton at the bottom left.
Click each message tube in the inventory. Click the corresponding coloured message pipe.
Screen 8: Basement

Move the cursor till it focuses on the door / doorknob (hotspot).
Click the doorknob. The knob is missing.
Move the goggles around till the focus on the bottom right ground.

Screen 9: Dark Room

Slide the night vision goggles around the room to find the hidden objects.
Helene needs to turn the power on.
Slide the goggles to the fan (round) panel (hotspot) in the middle of the room.
Helene needs to put a working fan there and get the generator ready.
First, get a fan belt.
Slide the goggles towards the top left of the fan panel.
Click the fan belt hanging from the shelf on the left wall.
It is added to the inventory.
Click the fan blades lying on the chair at the bottom left.
It is added to the inventory.
The fan needs an air filter.
Click the long dark panel (hotspot) to the left of the fan panel - it's the slot for the air filter.
Click the air filter (the dark framed circle) on the ground just below the air filter panel.
NOTE: Air filter cannot be clicked unless the air filter panel is selected.
Click the air filter in the inventory. Click the air filter panel.
Click the fan in the inventory. Click the fan panel.
Click the fan belt in the inventory. Click the fan panel.
Click the generator (hotspot) (the round cylinder) to the right of the antenna in the middle of the screen.
It needs a can of gas.
Click the gas can below the louvered window at the right of the screen.
Click the gas can in the inventory. Click the generator.
Helene now needs to turn the generator on.
Slide the goggles to the generator controls (hotspot), at the immediate left of the louvered window.
Helene needs the generator key.
Click the key on the table at the extreme bottom right of the screen.
Click the key in the inventory. Click the generator controls.
Click the key.
Thank God.
Helene now has to escape the room via the louvered window.
She has to unto the four bolts (hotspots) holding the louvered window.
Helene needs a wrench.
Click the wrench on the shelf immediately above the louvered window.
Click the wrench in the inventory. Click the window.
Click twice to escape the room.
Screen 10: Furnace Room

Click the half-log (the lying down one).
Click the log in the inventory. Click the furnace.
Click the furnace to shut the door.
Helene needs to open the vent of the furnace.
Click the left (vent) pipe (hotspot) coming out of the furnace.
It's missing a steam valve.
Click the steam valve in front of the bucket at the bottom left of.
Click the steam valve in the inventory. Click the vent pipe.
Click the black hole / valve wheel joint (hotspot) in the vent pipe, further towards the left, away from the furnace.
The pipe is missing the valve wheel.
Click the valve wheel on the floor in front of the chest at the right of the screen.

Click the valve wheel again.
Screen 11: Medical Room

Click the black shadow (hotspot) on the wall at the right of the staircase. There are three hotspots - one at the top of the steps, one at the middle, and one at the bottom, all on the wall.
The staircase needs a railing.
But before that, Helene needs 3 brackets to hook the railing to the wall.
Click the grey metal bracket on the first step of the stairs.
Click the second bracket on the ground in front of the bottom step of the staircase.
Click the third bracket at the bottom left of the screen, above the skull.
Click a bracket in the inventory. Click the top wall shadow.
Click another bracket in the inventory. Click the middle wall shadow.
Click the last bracket in the inventory. Click the bottom wall shadow.
Click each bracket (hotspot) on the wall once.
Helene needs to fix the brackets more firmly into the wall.
Click the screws on the ground at the left in front of the bottom step of the staircase.

Repeat for all three brackets.
Click one of the brackets (hotspot) on the wall.
It needs a bannister.

This place is for a swipe card reader.
Pick up the white card reader from the ground at extreme right bottom.

Helene needs the keycard to open the door.
Click the white keycard on the bag at the bottom right of the screen.

Helene needs to fix a pulley there.
